The world’s media industry will converge in Singapore as the Lion City plays host to an estimated 5000 broadcasters, buyers and sellers, distributors, financiers and producers at the Asia Media Festival (AMF) 2009.
Hosted by the Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA), the festival offers opportunities for the media industry to share best practices, forge strong business networks, foster international collaborations and heighten brand awareness under its premier trade events:

- The Asia Media Festival (AMF) 2009 Country Showcase, 2 December, is a half-day seminar organised by the Media Development Authority of Singapore in conjunction with Asia Television Forum. It is the ideal international platform for Asian and European industry and government representatives to share information towards facilitating international co-productions.
- The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) will present an Introductory Session, 3 December, where Ignacio de Castro, Deputy Director, WIPO AMC, Geneva, will speak on WIPO’s work in dispute resolution and provide an overview of WIPO mediation and arbitration. Attend WIPO’s Workshop on WIPO Film and Media Dispute Prevention and Resolution, 4 December, to learn the practical tools for efficient film and media dispute prevention and resolution through specific film and media case scenarios. - Over 4000 trade participants from 50 countries attended AMF 2008.
- A record-breaking total of US$73.7 million worth of programming sales was concluded.
- Close to 700 participating companies on the all-new exhibition format at Suntec Singapore, marking an overall increase of 15% from last year’s event
- 7 international pavilions from France, Malaysia, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan and South Korea (2 contingents) brought delegations totaling 100 companies.
